2010 Audi Q5
This Q5 got hit in the front and before the owner had a chance to get her in for repairs...WHAM! POW! LOOK OUT BATMAN, crash happened in the rear. Luckily for her, she could now have both repairs done at the same time. This was a Safeco claim. Take a look through this slide show and see the entire process from the beginning.
Car was hit fairly hard in the rear making the vehicle inoperable.
The client also had damage to the front end she wanted completed at the same time. I believe that USAA was the insurance company responsible for paying the front claim.
Once the vehicle moved into production we started to disassemble her to see the extent of the damage. Remember you don't know what you don't know. The only way to know is by uncovering all the hidden damage.
Once the front end got disassembled we could then set the vehicle up on the frame machine and see the extent of frame damage. NEVER ASSUME the structure is straight. Someones life relies on whether or not we do our job and that means NEVER guessing. Set up the vehicle and gauge it, then you will know if the structure is straight or not.
Always remember.....Your life is on the line in a future collision if the structure of this vehicle is not as per the manufacturers specifications. That may not mean a lot to you because you may not understand. That is okay, but let me put it in terms you can understand. If your child fell off the swing at school and their elbow was all black and blue and twice the size due to swelling, would you expect the doctor to do an XRAY? Of course you would because you want to know if it is broken and since there is no way for the doctor to know by looking at the arm if it is broken or not he must perform an xray. OK measuring your vehicles structure after a collision is just like that Xray, we cannot tell if the structure is bent until we measure it. Many times we find bent structures that at first inspection appear to be undamaged. You simply cannot rely on a visual inspection when dealing with the frame of a modern vehicle, you must rely on the computer measuring system. PERIOD!
Paint paint paint. Gotta love it when color is flying.
We removed the door to be able to paint all the pieces with no tape lines being left after paint.
At last, the work is complete! From the rear-looking good again!
Angle from the front after work was completed.
We do not charge the customer or the insurance companies for detailing, which is why the client asked for a detail prior to delivery.
