2007 Porsche 911 GT3
This 2007 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup Car got into a little mishap on the track. Precision Motorsports Racing reached out to us for assistance and requested the the whole car except trunk and roof get painted at the same time.
Now that we know the frame was not bent we can begin metal straightening on the left rear quarter panel.
The rear quarter panel required a light sheet metal pull to release stress and and pressure, which allowed the metal to be worked and straightened.
Here is the hood with all the stone chips and minor dents repaired and ready for primer.
Metal straightening on the drivers side quarter panel has begun.
Once all metal straightening was completed we were able to do the body filler repair to make the panel perfectly contoured as it was prior impact
On a GT3 Cup Car the door is a Porsche Motorsport specific panel and is not easily found, hence the repair.
Fitting of bumper and tail lamps before primer is an absolute must if you want a quality repair and a happy client.
Since we were painting the entire car except the roof and engine lid, we took care of some other minor effected areas and stone chips.
Now that all the panels are repaired and prepped for paint, this race car got moved into our waterborne paint booth and masked for paint. Once we wiped, tacked and sprayed she was looking just as pretty as new.
Well here was the finished product ready for delivery back to Precision Motorsports Racing in Long Valley, NJ.
Time for Watkins Glenn! Just need PMR to do a little final tuning and assembly....then back on the track!
